More Biking
This morning, I decided to do a 53' pyramid of interval work on the bike before my lifting of 3 x 8 reps. For some reason, my hip flexor is giving me a little bit of trouble, but hopefully it will fix itself and not turn into any sort of serious injury. My lower legs are really bothering me, so I'll either take tomorrow off (knowing me, the likelihood of that happening is slim to none) or I'll spend it on the bike or in the pool. Ah, the pool...how I despise you so.

The pool is fun! You just have to know how to pool-run. That, and you have to have something interesting to think about while you do it. But I think you should take the day off. It could work wonders.

I do know how to pool-run. Several people here have looked at me rather strangely as I move about an inch a second, but it tends to hurn my ankles and stuff a lot if I do it for more than 45 minutes.

This statement suggests that maybe you actually don't know how to pool-run. If you feel like moving faster, scoop with your hands. If your ankles hurt, try keeping them flexed (this prevents your calves from seizing up, too). But isn't 45 minutes enough anyway?

Well, for me, one of the benefits of pool running is that you don't go very fast, because then I don't have to turn around as much and try to run on the really slippery bottom. And UWC has an Olympic-sized pool, which helps too.

In pool-running, one never let's one's feet touch the bottom. That would defeat the purpose of one's pool-running, because then one would have impact, however minimal. One avoids the bottom like the plague and turns around before one gets there.
