Outrageous

http://www.cornellamerican.com/main/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=78

OK, so I'm Christian; some may call me conservative, I like the label liberal better. Be that as it may, I feel this issue is not dependant on politics, but on humanity. Humans should not judge a group based on what their background is, period. I am outraged by the article that the "Cornell American" wrote; I am even more outraged that Cornell funds this paper. Not only is the information politically incorrect, it is also scientifically false. We can barely understand issues like violence, love, and jealousy, let alone do accurate scientific studies to find a gene for these behaviors. Sure, there may be a correlation (emphasis on "may be") between race and violence, but there is not nearly enough evidence to cause such deep wounds in a culture. I could say there is a correlation between whites and the ability to be such pricks, but people would call me crazy. Grrrr is all I can say....

Polo Team

Setting up the offense. The men's polo team advances the ball up the field in a game earlier this year. The Red won the national championship this past weekend, while the women finished in second place.

OK, one might wonder why I'm putting up a picture of the Cornell Polo team. During my lab for my horses class a couple of people were talking about polo tryouts that were today. We got into a conversation that went along the lines of, "I'm going to try out tonight, you should come to!" "Haha, no, I really shouldn't be tempted..." "C'mon! it will be fun." "Ok, what time again?". So as you can see I held out as long as I could...

So after a quick search on the internet about polo (I have never played and only watched one match) and a run to Larua to borrow her boots I was on my way to the good 'ol Oxley Equestrian Center. My thinking is that I'm not sure if I want to be on the team or not, but at least I could ride for a few minutes and have some fun. Well, I ended up being pretty nervous when my time came to do my figure-8 within the 15 yard line. I stayed on and got most of my leads right, but I lost my stirrups about 5 times! Oh well. There was about 30 girls tonight and there's another night of tryouts tomorrow, while the team only has room for about 10 (so the rumor goes). I really don't think I'll be chosen, there were a lot of good girls out there, but it was a good time. So parents, don't freak out...yet....
